Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are designed to power devices with high energy consumption (flashlights, cordless power tools, medical devices, as an element in portable chargers and laptop batteries, small vehicles).
The built-in triple protection system against short circuit, overheating, overcharging and overdischarging is implemented by equipping the battery with a thermal fuse and a special protection board (for devices without their own protection board)
When the maximum permissible temperature is reached, the thermal fuse opens the load circuit, preventing further overheating of the battery. It serves to break the load circuit when the minimum or maximum battery voltage is reached, thus making it impossible to overcharge or overdischarge it.
