The successful arrangement of optical elements made it possible to create binoculars with a large eye relief, a wide field of view and a minimum focusing distance of only 2 meters, while not losing image quality that meets the highest standards of sports optics.

The strong and reliable magnesium housing in rubber trim, protective hydrophobic coating of the lenses XPL Protective Coating, sealing according to the IPX7 standard and filling with inert argon make the Athlon Cronus G2 UHD 10x42 binoculars immune to weather vagaries, accidental impacts or scratches. The clear operation of mechanical components, a large focusing drum and solid profiled knurling on the control elements allow you to quickly, smoothly and accurately adjust the binoculars for observations. The diopter correction mechanism is located in the center in front of the focusing drum and is equipped with a lock-fixing device, which allows you to make all basic adjustments with one finger and not accidentally lose the settings during observations. The convenience of use is facilitated by the modern shape of the body with the upper hinge bridge Top Hinge, retractable eyepiece frames, and lens caps secured with straps to the body to prevent accidental loss.

UHD Glass. The lenses of these binoculars use UHD glass with ultra-low dispersion, which radically distinguishes this model among binoculars with achromatic lenses made of ordinary glass. UHD glasses provide almost the same angle of refraction of light throughout the visible spectrum, which means that there is almost no light scattering when light passes through the lenses, and it is possible to minimize or completely eliminate chromatic aberration (color distortion), and achieve the most clear and contrasty image transmission.

Edge To Edge System. The special layout and selection of elements of the optical system made it possible to achieve perfect clarity of image transmission from edge to edge across the entire field of view, getting rid of such geometric aberrations (geometric distortions) as distortion, field curvature, astigmatism, spherical aberration and comatose aberration.

Advanced Fully Multi-Coated. These binoculars have improved full multi-coating of optics, which means that a broadband multilayer coating is applied to each surface of the optical system. Such multilayer coating significantly prevents the reflection of light in the entire visible spectrum. This allows for more than 99% light transmission through each optical surface, resulting in high image brightness, natural color reproduction, and the ability to observe more effectively in twilight.

XPL Protective Coating. An additional layer of external protective hydrophobic coating of the lens, which provides extra protection against accidental scratches, accumulation of dirt, oils, and water droplets on the lenses. Thanks to this coating, when using binoculars in the rain, it is enough to simply shake the binoculars vigorously to remove all drops from the lens and then continue observing effectively.

BAK4. In order to eliminate significant light losses in the rotating prism system, this model uses prisms made of high-density BAK4 optical glass (barite crown). This glass has a higher refractive index, which allows you to minimize light losses and obtain a perfectly round exit pupil with an equally bright image from edge to edge, avoiding vignetting (visible darkening of the image due to cutting the light beam at the periphery of the exit pupil).

ESP Dielectric Coating. Modern binoculars with a Roof prism design of the Schmidt-Pehan system necessarily require the application of a reflective coating to one of the prism surfaces. Dielectric highly reflective ESP coating (unlike aluminum or silver) is considered the most effective, reflecting more than 99% of the light that falls on it. Only such a coating can provide the highest possible light transmission and brightness of the image transmission of binoculars. This type of coating is quite expensive, therefore it is used exclusively in high-class optics.

Waterproof. Regardless of whether you got into a heavy downpour or accidentally dropped the binoculars into a pond, the level of protection of this model allows you to be sure that moisture will not get inside and nothing will happen to the binoculars. After all, these binoculars are sealed, sealed with rubber O-rings, and have an IPX7 water resistance rating, which means resistance to moisture ingress when immersed in water to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.

Fogproof (Argon Purged). This model is fully protected from internal fogging due to sudden temperature changes. The binoculars' housing is purged from the inside with argon, which eliminates the possibility of oxygen or water vapor inside the binoculars, which could condense on the glass or cause corrosion of the metal parts of the housing. The use of argon is more expensive compared to nitrogen purging, but argon is an inert gas that does not react with the environment even at high temperatures, unlike oxygen.

Magnesium Body. A special alloy of magnesium, aluminum and a number of other alloying metals with low weight has a strength 40-50 percent higher than traditional aluminum alloys used in the production of optical instrument housings. Binoculars made of magnesium alloy are not only more reliable and durable, but also have an excellent appearance due to the precision machining of magnesium bodies.
