Athlon binoculars are designed to withstand the elements and provide high image quality regardless of the price category. The best proof of this is the Athlon Neos G2 HD 10x42 binoculars, which are reliably protected from moisture, internal condensation, shocks and impacts. So if you are caught in the bad weather, or even if the binoculars accidentally fall into a body of water, they will be ready for further use. A thick profiled rubber coating provides additional protection against impacts and good grip even in wet weather.
The objective lenses are made of low-dispersion HD glass, prisms are made of high-density BAK4 optical glass, and a multilayer anti-reflective coating is applied to each optical surface. All this provides decent image quality and distinguishes these binoculars even among the highest quality mid-range optical instruments.
Each Athlon Neos G2 HD 10x42 binocular has a serial number, which allows for better quality control.
HD Glass. The lenses of these binoculars use low-dispersion HD glass, which significantly distinguishes this model among binoculars with achromatic lenses made of ordinary glass. HD glasses provide a smaller scattering angle of the light spectrum, which makes it possible to reduce chromatic aberration (color distortion) and achieve a clearer and more contrasted image transmission.
Fully Multi-Coated. These binoculars have full multi-coating of optics, which means that a multilayer coating is applied to each surface of the optical system. Such multilayer coating prevents light reflection. This allows for 99% light transmission through each optical surface, resulting in optimal image brightness, natural color reproduction, and the ability to observe more effectively in twilight.
BAK4. In order to eliminate significant light losses in the rotating prism system, this model uses prisms made of high-density optical glass BAK4 (barite crown). This glass has a higher refractive index, which allows you to minimize light losses and obtain a perfectly round exit pupil with an equally bright image from edge to edge, avoiding vignetting (visible darkening of the image due to cutting the light beam at the periphery of the exit pupil).
Waterproof. Regardless of whether you got into a heavy downpour or accidentally dropped the binoculars into a body of water, the level of protection of this model allows you to be sure that moisture will not get inside and nothing will happen to the binoculars. After all, these binoculars are sealed, sealed with rubber O-rings, and have a class of protection against moisture penetration IPX7, which means resistance to moisture ingress when immersed to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.
Fogproof (Nitrogen Purged). This model is fully protected against internal fogging due to sudden temperature changes. The binoculars' body is purged with nitrogen from the inside, which eliminates the possibility of oxygen or water vapor inside the binoculars, which could condense on the glass or cause corrosion of the metal parts of the body. Nitrogen is a semi-inert gas and does not react with the environment under normal conditions, unlike oxygen.
