KONUS Tornado 7x50 – marine tactical binoculars with a fixed magnification of 7x and a large objective lens diameter of 50 mm. Suitable for use in extreme conditions, even with a lack of external lighting, it forms a fairly "juicy" and contrasting picture. It has a built-in compass with backlight and a rangefinder grid for visual determination of sizes and distances. The backlight is powered by standard LR44 mini batteries.
The binoculars' body is filled with nitrogen, reinforced with metal O-rings and covered with a sealing, anti-slip and shock-resistant rubber "shell". The wet asphalt-colored rubber coating is equipped with blue inserts for quick recognition of the binoculars on the water. Initially, the KONUS Tornado model was developed to meet the needs of the army and navy, but over time it gained popularity among amateur yachtsmen, hunters and fishermen.
The rotating Tornado system is made according to the Porro scheme, the prisms are made of high-quality optical glass - barium crown: light losses when passing through such a system are practically eliminated. The final image is characterized by natural color balance and the maximum possible stereo effect.
The design of the KONUS Tornado binoculars provides separate focusing for the left and right eyes. The focusing mechanism has a smooth stroke and provides extremely precise sharpness; the smallest focusing distance is 7 m. The depth of field of the binoculars is sufficient for observing even slow-moving objects from close distances - insects, reptiles, etc.
When tracking fast-moving/approaching objects, as well as in cases where the observer is on a moving platform, the autofocus function will be useful. Due to the separation of the central axes of the glasses and lenses, the binoculars allow you to compare the distance of objects (closer/farther) at distances of up to 7-10 km.
In terms of quality, the Tornado binoculars from KONUS are not inferior to similar models from well-known brands, and in terms of real, "practical" aperture, they even surpass some of them. At the same time, the price of the binoculars allows you to purchase them not only for work tasks, but also for hobbies – hunting, tourism or fishing.
