The standards for the production of modern high-quality binoculars require the mandatory use of a number of design solutions and materials, such as a hermetic waterproof housing filled with nitrogen, the use of prisms made of BAK4 optical glass, and mandatory full multilayer optics. Vanguard Vesta 8x42 WP fully meets these standards.
It is especially worth noting the incredibly small focusing limit, which is only 2.1 meters, which similar binoculars in this price category cannot boast of. The ability to focus at such a short distance provides excellent opportunities for macro observations.
MultiGuard® Coatings. When light passes through each optical surface of the lens that does not have a coating, 4% of the light flux is reflected. The multilayer coating increases the light transmission to 99.5%. As a result, the four-layer illuminating coating MultiGuard® Coatings applied to each optical surface ensure a high level of light transmission of the optical system and unsurpassed natural color rendering.

BAK4 Prism. Significant light losses in a rotating prism system occur regardless of its design. The use of BAK4 optical glass (barite crown) with a higher refractive index minimizes light loss and largely avoids vignetting (darkening of the image due to cutting of the light beam at the periphery of the eyepiece lenses).
Waterproof & fogproof. These binoculars have an IPX7 water resistance rating and are also protected from internal condensation. The housing is sealed with a rubber O-ring, which allows the binoculars to be submerged for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter without letting moisture in. From the internal volume of the housing, the air and water vapor contained in it are displaced by nitrogen N2, which does not form condensate on the internal surfaces of the optics during a sharp temperature drop.
Outstanding near focus. Most users use binoculars only to observe distant objects.
