Description of the Fenix E35R flashlight:
The Fenix E35R EDC flashlight can be used while fishing, traveling, at home or for professional purposes. Unlike its predecessor, the E35 V3.0 model, the update boasts an impressive brightness, reaching 3100 lumens. The light range has also increased: now it is as much as 260 meters.
The Luminus SST70 cold white diode used in the flashlight has a service life of about 5.5 years. Thanks to the combination of a thin glass lens and the AOD-S V2.0 diffuser from Fenix, the lighting is soft and uniform, without small artifacts.
To prevent the risk of overheating and damage to the internal electronics, the flashlight is equipped with an IOP protection board. If the shell heats up to 60 C, protection is triggered, the light brightness decreases and the structure gradually cools down.
Operating modes
Among the three pairs of modes with a brightness of 30 lumens and more, there are five standard variations of constant lighting, as well as an emergency strobe.
- Turbo: 3100 lumens / 15,103 candelas / 260 meters / 2 hours 30 minutes;
- High: 1000 lumens / 4767 candelas / 138 meters / 3 hours 40 minutes;
- Med: 350 lumens / 1607 candelas / 80 meters / 9 hours 20 minutes;
- Low: 150 lumens / 719 candelas / 54 meters / 21 hours 20 minutes;
- Eco: 30 lumens / 152 candela / 25 meters / 69 hours;
- Strobe: 3100 lumens.
Turning the flashlight on/off, changing modes and electronic locking is done by pressing the switch in the head of the case.
Power source
The Fenix E35R can shine continuously for almost three days, since the flashlight is powered by a high-performance Li-ion 21700 battery. The best option for this model is the branded ARB-L21 battery of the appropriate form factor, since it is guaranteed to be of high quality.
When the color indicator in the control button signals a critically low battery level, you can use the Type-C port and charge the model in just 3 hours.
Physical parameters
The dimensions of the E35R flashlight are significantly smaller than modern smartphones, so the design is as comfortable to wear as possible. The length of the body is 120 mm, the head diameter is 26.5 mm, the tail diameter is 24.8 mm. The weight of the model together with the battery included in the set is 148 grams.
The body material is A6061-T6 aluminum, which is used in aircraft construction. The metal retains its shape if dropped from a meter height, and the hard anodized coating makes it resistant to oxidation. The flashlight can even be briefly immersed in water, since moisture protection is at the highest level of IP68.
The E35R is comfortable to hold in your hand, as there is a fine knurling on the body. The model can also be attached to a belt / clothing pocket using a removable clip or fixed to any metal surface using a magnet in the tail, freeing your hands to perform important tasks.
