Description of the Fenix LR40R XP-L HI V3+18 Luxeon V2 flashlight, 12000 lm:

For situations where the brightness of the light is extremely important, the Fenix company created the Fenix LR40R flashlight. Its capabilities reach 12,000 lumens in brightness and 773 m in lighting distance. The flashlight operates due to long-lasting diodes with a service life of 50,000 hours. It is assembled from durable materials and is protected from all the most common types of malfunctions. In addition, this model has a completely waterproof metal case with protection against oxidation.

The Fenix LR40R flashlight operates in 11 different modes. Of these, 2 are for flashing signal lighting, 4 - high beam and 5 - low beam. The low and high beam modes can be switched on separately or in combination with each other. The signal modes work independently or simultaneously with the high beam.

High beam:

• High: brightness 1000 lumens, flux intensity - 101,960 cd, lighting distance - 640 m. With its own battery, the lamp works for 7 hours;
• Med: brightness 350 lumens, flux intensity - 40,105 cd, lighting distance - 401 m. With its own battery, the lamp works for 22 hours 30 minutes;
• Low: brightness 150 lumens, flux intensity - 170239 cd, lighting distance – 263 m. With its own battery, the lamp works for 44 hours 31 minutes;
• Eco: brightness 50 lumens, flux intensity – 6608 cd, lighting distance – 163 m. With its own battery, the lamp works for 92 hours 18 minutes.

Dipped beam:

• Turbo: brightness 11,000 lumens, flux intensity – 41,867 cd, lighting distance – 410 m. With its own battery, the lamp works for 45 minutes;
• High II: brightness 6,000 lumens, flux intensity – 21,510 cd, lighting distance – 295 m. With its own battery, the lamp works for 2 hours;
• High I: brightness 3000 lumens, flux intensity – 9830 cd, lighting distance – 200 m. With its own battery, the lamp works for 2 hours 50 minutes;
• Med: brightness 1000 lumens, flux intensity – 3142 cd, lighting distance – 115 m. With its own battery, the lamp works for 7 hours 15 minutes;
• Low: brightness 350 lumens, flux intensity – 915 cd, lighting distance – 65 m. With its own battery, the flashlight works for 22 hours and 44 minutes.

Signal modes:

• Strobe: signal brightness is 3000 lumens;
• SOS: signal brightness is 350 lumens.

All of the above modes are controlled by two buttons located closer to the head of the flashlight. One of them is responsible for turning on and setting the low beam modes, as well as signal modes. The second controls the high beam in the same way. To prevent the flashlight from discharging during transportation, the buttons are locked. To do this, the user must hold them pressed simultaneously for 3 seconds.

Next to the control buttons are indicator lights that will help the user understand how much energy is left in the battery. The function works for the Fenix ARB-L37-12000 battery, which is supplemented with this flashlight. The indicator will work if you press any button once while the Fenix LR40R is off and will notify you about the charge level for 8 seconds.

If all 4 lights light up, the battery is currently 1005-80% charged. When 3 of the 4 lights are on, the charge is 80%-60%. The signal of 2 lights indicates a charge of 60%-40%. When 1 light is on, the charge in the battery is 40%-20%. If only 1 light is blinking. The charge level has dropped below 20%.

The flashlight with its branded battery can be used as a power source to charge other devices. The Fenix LR40R itself is charged via a USB Type-C port using the QC3.0, QC2.0 protocol. It also supports connecting a 5V adapter for fast charging. During charging, the indicator lights will flash all the time, and the flashlight will be able to work in Min and Eco modes.

Also, 18650 batteries are suitable for powering this flashlight model. Moreover, it will work even with an incomplete set, so you will need 1-4 batteries. This function will be valuable for emergency situations when it is impossible to get a full set of batteries or charge the branded battery.

Users should keep in mind that the Fenix LR40R model can get very hot during operation. To avoid overheating of the diodes, the flashlight has built-in automatic protection. It will work if the diode temperature exceeds 65 . This is possible when the maximum brightness of the high beam and low beam is turned on simultaneously: the reduction will be up to 1000 lumens. During operation of other high beam and low beam modes, the brightness can drop to 1500 lumens. There is also a brightness reduction associated with the operating time of the flashlight. For Turbo low beam mode, it is 2 minutes, and for High II - 5 minutes. Once the flashlight cools down, it can be turned on again with the same brightness.
