Description of the Fenix LR60R hand-held flashlight:

The power of a spotlight and the ergonomics of a hand-held flashlight are combined in the Fenix LR60R model, which is designed for use in conditions where the user's comfort, and sometimes the lives of other people, depend on a bright light source.

The main purpose of this flashlight is to illuminate close and long distances during search and rescue missions. The range of the light beam can reach 1085 meters at a maximum brightness of 21,000 lumens, which simplifies work in complete darkness. Lighting with a concentrated beam can be used as a light guide, and a variety of floodlight options guarantee safety in another area - when practicing extreme sports, such as climbing.

The flashlight is also able to facilitate construction work. In this case, the variability of carrying / installing the lighting structure plays an important role, which can not only be held by the remote handle or worn on a shoulder strap (the listed accessories are included), but also mounted on a tripod, which provides high-quality illumination of a large area if the "spotlight" mode is activated.

The Fenix LR60R is equipped with thirteen LEDs with a service life of up to 50 thousand hours: one Luminus SFT70 and twelve Lumileds SST40. The color temperature of the light is 6000K (cold beam), which means that the flashlight shines much further than analogues with warm spectrum light.

In the upper part of the structure there is an OLED display, with which you can monitor key parameters: current light power, remaining operating time, and the amount of charge in the batteries.

Another interesting feature of the model is the design of the case. It imitates a scorpion and did not go unnoticed at the Red Dot Award 2023, taking home the main award of the competition.

The Fenix LR60R interface contains an extended set of modes with far, near, combined, and flashing light. There are 10 modes in total, which can be conditionally divided into 2 groups according to their purpose.

Search modes (long-range)

• Turbo*: 21,000 lm – 294,267 cd – 1,085 meters – 1 hour 50 minutes;
• High: 3,000 lm – 249,717 cd – 1,000 meters – 3 hours 45 minutes;
• Medium: 1,000 lm – 92,184 cd – 607 meters – 10 hours 40 minutes;

• Eco: 50 lm – 4,371 cd – 132 meters – 113 hours.

Camping modes (near)

• Turbo: 15,000 lm – 30,896 cd – 352 meters – 2 hours 10 minutes;
• High: 6,000 lm – 11,839 cd – 218 meters – 3 hours;
• Medium: 2,000 lm – 3,949 cd – 126 meters – 5 h 25 min;
• SOS: 300 lm;
• Strobe: 9000 lm.

*These modes are combined, combining long-range and low-beam.

Important! When operating at high brightness, the model accumulates a lot of heat. To avoid malfunctions of the internal electronics due to high temperatures, the flashlight has intelligent overheating protection, which is triggered every time the temperature reaches 60°C and reduces the brightness. You can use the brightest modes again after the electronics have cooled down.

Another option that directly affects the brightness of the activated mode is the proximity sensor built into the flashlight. It automatically reduces the light output to a minimum (Eco mode) if the flashlight head is <60 cm from any object for more than 1 second. This is done to prevent materials from catching fire due to the powerful light beam hitting them.

The brightness of the light returns to its original level when the distance between the flashlight head and the nearby object is more than 60 cm for 1.2 seconds.

Control features

Despite the large number of operating modes, the control is simple — a mechanical rotary switch is responsible for this.

• Turning the flashlight on / off: Turning the switch in either direction activates the light. Returning the switch to its original position turns the flashlight off.
• Selecting the mode group (search / camping): To switch to search modes, turn the switch clockwise when the flashlight is off. Turning the switch counterclockwise activates one of the camping modes.
• Mode selection: The brightness in any of the groups is selected by turning the switch step by step. In the search group, the modes change in the following order: Eco → Low → Medium → High → Turbo. In the camping group, the modes are arranged in the following order: Medium → High → Turbo → SOS → Strobe.

Power source

The operating voltage of the Fenix LR60R is 14.4 V. The model is powered by a replaceable unit of 4 batteries with a capacity of 4000 mAh - branded batteries compatible only with this flashlight. Replacing the batteries from the kit with other li-ion analogues is not recommended, as this may cause the model to fail.

The USB Type-C charging port is located next to the OLED display, which automatically lights up when charging starts and displays the battery charge level. The flashlight supports fast charging when using a 45 W charging adapter and above, so the whole process takes no more than 1.5 hours.

In addition to the input port, the flashlight has a USB-A output port (20 W). This turns the lighting device into a portable Power Bank, with which you can charge small appliances.

Physical parameters

The body is made of A6061-T6 aluminum, so the flashlight is not only bright, but also resistant to wear. The metal is not afraid of direct mechanical impact and falls from a meter height, and the anodized layer increases its corrosion resistance.

Taking into account the extreme power, many heat-dissipating fins are made in the head of the structure. The operating temperature range of the flashlight starts from -30°C and ends at 45°C. Protection against clogging and moisture is also provided by the manufacturer - it reaches the IP68 standard with the ability to work for 4 hours even in water at a depth of 2 meters.

The dimensions of the case are as follows: 208 mm (length) x 91 mm (head diameter) x 62.5 mm (tail diameter). The flashlight weighs 1500 grams including the battery pack.
