Fenix TK11R Flashlight Description:

The Fenix TK11R handheld flashlight is equipped with a Luminus SFT40 LED (cool white), which generates a narrow and long-range light beam, which is also facilitated by a smooth reflector. The model is designed for use in tactical purposes, as well as for emergency response workers who need a portable and durable light source to successfully complete their tasks.

The manufacturer's claimed LED service life is 50 thousand hours, equivalent to more than 5.5 years. One of the advantages of the flashlight is the presence of an innovative pulse-frequency signal transmission system (APF), developed by Fenix brand engineers, which allows you to increase the maximum light brightness value to 1600 lumens in High mode and the lighting distance to 420 meters.

The capabilities of the flashlight can be expanded using additional accessories: the AER-02 V2.0 remote button, ALG-00, ALG-05, ALG-06, ALG-15, ALG-16 mounts, as well as using branded AOF-M, AOD-M light filters or the AOT-M signal wand (the listed accessories are not included in the main kit and must be purchased separately).

Operating modes

The Fenix TK11R interface contains only the most necessary modes with a power of 30 lumens or more. There is a separate strobe mode, which generates rapid flashes to disorient the enemy or provide light signals in an emergency.

It is important to note that the specified operating time of the High mode is calculated taking into account the duration of the glow on less powerful lighting options, which alternately replace each other in order of decreasing brightness to prevent heating of the internal electronics. This is how intelligent overheating protection works.

The flashlight has a memory circuit that remembers the operating mode activated before the model was turned off and turns it on again the next time the light is activated (does not work for strobe mode).

Control features

The model has a classic type of control typical of tactical flashlights. The switches are located in the tail of the case for easy access to the interface.

To avoid confusion between the buttons, they have a different shape and surface, so even in pitch darkness the user can quickly find the necessary switch.

• The tactical round button with a textured surface is responsible for instantly turning on the flashlight, which is done by lightly pressing it. By pressing the button all the way down, you can turn on the constant light mode.
• The smooth oval-shaped switch (functional) allows you to change the operating mode with a single press when the light is on. If you need to activate the strobe mode, just hold this button.

To prevent the flashlight from accidentally turning on during transportation, the manufacturer recommends removing the battery from the compartment after each use.

Power source

The recommended power source format for the Fenix TK11R is a 18650 li-ion battery. An element of this size is included in the package (Fenix ARB-L18). Its capacity is 3600 mAh, continuously powering the flashlight for 25.5 hours in Low mode. It is also allowed to use a pair of disposable CR123A lithium batteries with a nominal voltage of 3.0 V instead of a rechargeable battery.

The battery installed in the flashlight can be charged via the USB Type-C input port located in the head of the structure and covered with a cap.

The LED indicator is activated each time the model is turned on. It lights up for 3 seconds, displaying the battery charge level:

• Green (steady): 100% - 85%;
• Green (flashing): 85% - 50%;
• Red (steady): 50% - 25%;
• Red (flashing): 25% - 1%.

The operating voltage of the flashlight is in the range from 3.0 V to 8.4 V. When the voltage in the battery drops below a satisfactory level, the system automatically reduces the brightness of the light until the lowest output power is reached. When this happens, the light indicator starts flashing red as a reminder to charge or replace the power source.

Physical parameters

The use of anodized aluminum A6061-T6 as the body material has given the flashlight reference strength, making it invulnerable to mechanical damage, including impact in the event of a fall from a meter height. The design is complemented by an O-ring, another one is included in the set as a spare. As a result, moisture does not penetrate the shell (protection class IP68).

Deep ribs in the head of the body remove heat that accumulates during prolonged operation of the flashlight, and the ribbed knurling provides a firm hold.

The length of the body is 145.5 mm, the head diameter is 34 mm, and the tail diameter is 23.5 mm. The weight of the model is 117.5 g, excluding the power source.
