Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE — Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) — is a high-strength synthetic material characterized by extreme strength, lightness, and wear resistance. Due to its unique long-chain molecular structure, UHMWPE has high impact strength, low density, and excellent resistance to chemicals, moisture, and ultraviolet radiation. This material is widely used in the production of ballistic protective products, in particular soft ballistic packages for body armor.
Characteristics:
- Density: 160 g/m².
- Roll width: 160-162 cm.
- Thickness and protection: 36-40 layers of NVMPE provide 2nd class of protection according to DSTU (State Standard of Ukraine), which corresponds to the ability to stop fragments and certain types of bullets (for example, 9 mm caliber pistol bullets).
- Other properties:
- High tensile strength (8-10 times stronger than steel by weight).
- Light weight, which provides comfort when worn.
- Flexibility, which allows you to create ergonomic protective products.
- Resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
Applications:
