Features of Pinguin Taifun
Taifun by Pinguin — a dome tent with two entrances. One of the top models in the budget segment.

The kit includes: tent, awning, poles, stretchers, pegs, bag-cover with handles.
The tent is available in two sizes: double Taifun 2 and triple Taifun 3.
Pinguin Taifun has an average weight — ~4 kg. This option is not for light hikers, but it is great for short, simple trekking, weekend hikes, camping, fishing, car trips, etc.
Technologies, materials, functionality
- Inner tent made of breathable nylon.
- Pockets on the walls and a shelf under the ceiling, hooks for organizing small items, hanging a lamp, etc.
- Bed size2.2*1.5m for comfortable accommodation2-3 people. Suitable for two adults with one child.
- Two entrances. Each has a large vestibule with a depth of 90 cm for storing things and shoes or cooking.
- External frame. The classic base of two crossed arcs is supplemented with two shortened cantilever arcs to increase the space and rigidity of the structure.
- Arcs with a diameter of 8.5 and 9.5 mm, made of reinforced fiberglass. Lightweight, strong and reliable.
- Fixed with pegs and guy ropes the tent stably keeps its shape on stormy days.
- External awning made of polyester with a polyurethane coating. Waterproof (4000 mm), does not deteriorate in the sun.
- Bottom made of reinforced polyethylene. Very strong, does not let water through.
- Seams of the bottom and awningare glued with polyurethane tape.
- The tent remains dry inside regardless of the intensity of precipitation.
- Ventilation valves on the awning prevent condensation and excess heat from accumulating.
- For the best ventilation, open the entrances to the vestibule and tent. Themosquito screen on the entrance door of the tent will protect against mosquito invasion.
- Easy to assemble. The awning is installed first, and the tent is attached from the inside (which is especially convenient in the rain).
- If desired, the awning can be set up independently, without the inner tent, to get a light (~3 kg) shelter from the sun and rain on warm summer days.
How to use and care for the tent
- Place it as far away from the fire as possible. Do not use the burner in the tent.
- On a hard, abrasive surface, place a footprint under the tent to protect against cuts and punctures.
- Fix it with pegs and guy ropes regardless of the wind strength. Tighten evenly and not too tightly.
- Shake and dry thoroughly (from dew, rain, condensation) before storing in a cover.
- Regularly inspect for damage and repair immediately (at least temporarily).
- At home, thoroughly clean from dirt. First with a soft dry brush, then with a damp sponge.
- To remove stubborn stains, use a tent and awning cleaner.
- If necessary, renew the waterproof layer with a special impregnation (for example, Grangers Tent And Gear Repel Spray).
- Do not machine wash or hand wash the tent in hot water with regular detergent, bleach, tumble dry, or use a battery.
- Store the tent (absolutely dry!) in a dark, ventilated place, preferably unfolded.

Founded in the late 1980s, Pinguin was one of the first outdoor brands on the Czech market. Today it is a well-known European manufacturer of tourism products.
The company creates durable and functional equipment for amateur outdoor activities and professional expeditions: tents, awnings, sleeping bags, mats, backpacks, jackets, and more.
The name Pinguin is a reference to the Bromelia Pinguin plant, which grows high in the Andes, on rocks, in strong winds. Similarly, Pinguin products successfully pass the test of weather on the highest peaks in the world.
