Description of the Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50 FFP EBR-7C MRAD (PST-5259):
The first and most striking feature compared to the previous generation PST sights is the integration of the reticle brightness adjustment with the parallax turret. This solution significantly improves the ergonomics of the sight and has a positive effect on the speed of changing its settings.
The backlight has 10 brightness levels, each level is preceded by a shutdown. This allows you to turn off the backlight without turning the control to the entire range, but only to one step. The changes also affected the parallax adjustment itself, the new product has a minimum value of 25 yards (in the first generation 50 yards). And most importantly, the increase in the range of the optics from 6-24 in the first generation to 5-25 in PST Gen II. It is also worth noting the increase in the field of view from 17.8-4.2 feet/100 yards in PST 6-24x50 to 24.1-4.8 feet/100 yards in PST Gen II. Shooters will be pleased with the new turrets for entering corrections. They have become wider and lower, thus becoming more ergonomic.
The new Zero Stop RZR system will pleasantly please with the absence of "fuss with locking rings. The quality of the lenses remains as high as in the first generation, but the use of new mechanics somewhat improves the already high-quality picture. A slight increase in length from 394 mm in PST to 406 mm in PST Gen II, and the weight of the sight from 663 g in PST to 884.5 g, is compensated by a shorter and lighter hood, which in turn received internal corrugations, which allows you to reduce glare! I would also like to cancel the increase in vertical corrections from 19 MRAD/65 MOA in PST to 20 MRAD/70 MOA in PST Gen II. The number of horizontal corrections has also been reduced to 10 MRAD/35 MOA.
