Features of the Escapist 15D Tarp

The Escapist Tarp — is one of Sea to Summit's most popular products.

Use the Escapist Tarp as you like:

• On hikes and bike tours, camping, on the beach.

Technologies, materials, functionality

• Base made of 15D UltraSilsilnylon Nano with waterproof impregnation and taped seams. The material is surprisingly strong (for its small thickness).
• If installed correctly, it reliably protects against wind and rain, withstands difficult weather conditions (except for natural phenomena).
• One of the lightest on the market — only 300/440 g (Medium/Large). Suitable for hikers and bikepackers.
• Eight reinforced attachment points with eyelets and guylines for reliable and versatile installation.
• Hypalon guylines, reflective, with locks. The tension can be adjusted with one movement without leaving the tent.
• Eyelets on the attachment points for easy and safe  installation on trekking poles or fixing with pegs to the ground.

How to use and care for the tent

1. Unfold/fold on a surface free of stones and other sharp objects
2. Tighten evenly and not too tightly.
3. Practice setting up the tent in different ways before going on a hike.
4. Make sure that sparks from the fire do not fall on the tent.
5. Shake and dry well before storing in a cover.
6. Regularly inspect for damage and repair immediately (at least temporarily).
7. At home, thoroughly clean from dirt. First with a soft dry brush, then with a damp sponge. To remove stubborn stains, use a tent and awning cleaner.
8. If necessary, renew the waterproof layer with a special impregnation (for example, Grangers Tent And Gear Repel Spray).
9. Do not machine wash or hand wash the awning in hot water with regular detergent, bleach, dry in a dryer, on a heater or battery.
10. Store the awning (absolutely dry!) in a dark, ventilated place, preferably unfolded.
