Fenix ARE-A4 is a truly universal charger that can work almost anywhere and with almost any type of battery. It can accommodate 9 different battery formats. These are 6 types of lithium-ion batteries (18650, 14500, 26650, 10440, 21700, 16340) and 3 more types of nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride (AA, AAA, C). The device is ready to be connected to the central power supply right out of the box. And to use it in a car, you need to purchase a separate cable. If it is available, the Fenix ARE-A4 is suitable for any road trips. In addition, the weight of this model is only 265 g, which makes it an excellent option for travelers.
This charger has 4 slots, the electronics of which are completely separate. This is very convenient in cases where you have to charge batteries of different types at the same time, because it allows you to save such valuable time for travelers. The device will determine the type of battery, its condition and the most suitable charging program independently, completely automatically. All information important to the user will be displayed on the built-in screen. First, it indicates the type of battery, its voltage and current charging status. The last of the listed parameters is schematically presented in the form of a battery filled with separate colored blocks. There are 5 such blocks, which allows you to fairly accurately determine how charged the battery is at the moment. In addition, short presses on the desired channel button switch the display to display information about the charging current, the estimated time until the end of the process. If you hold the button down for a while, the screen will turn off.
Manufacturers have taken care of the durability of the Fenix ARE-A4 charger, providing it with several protective systems. This model is not afraid of short circuits, installing batteries in the wrong position, heating the batteries and their overcharging. The charger is also not demanding on environmental parameters. During its operation, the ambient temperature can be from 20 degrees below zero to 50 degrees above zero. Humidity can range from 5% to 90%.
